Privacy Policy

Your feed is yours.

No ads. No tracking. No selling your information. Here is exactly what happens to it.

Effective 4 November 2026. This policy covers the Post for iPhone, iPad and Mac, the Asteria Post server at post.asteria.technology, and this website. They are made by Asteria Technology. Questions: support@asteria.llc.

The short version

No ads, no tracking

Post has no advertising, no analytics SDKs, and no tracking across apps or websites.

Apple Intelligence runs on your device

Your feed ranking, post summaries, answers, and suggestions are made on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac.

Posts are public

Asteria Post is part of the open AT Protocol network. What you post can be seen by anyone, in any app on that network.

Posts are public on the AT Protocol network

Post is a client for the AT Protocol, the open network that Bluesky also uses. Your posts, replies, likes, reposts, follows, profile, and the photos and videos you post are public. Other servers on the network (including Bluesky's relay and app view) copy and show them, and other apps can display them. When you delete a post, we delete it from Asteria Post and tell the network, but we can't guarantee that every other server or app removes its copies.

Blocks are public on the AT Protocol too. Mutes stay private to your account.

What Asteria Post stores

If you create an account on Asteria Post, our server stores:

We use your email only to verify your account, reset your password, confirm account deletion, and send important notices about the service. We never send marketing email.

If you sign in with an account on another server (such as Bluesky), that server holds your account and its own privacy policy applies. Your password goes only to that server.

Moderation with DeepSeek

To keep scams, phishing, and malware off Asteria Post, our server sends the text of new Asteria Post posts (and the links in them) to DeepSeek's API to check them against our rules. We don't send your email, password, private settings, or photos and videos. Posts that clearly break the rules can be taken down; others are reviewed by a person.

Apple Intelligence

Post's Apple Intelligence features — the For You feed, Ask, summaries, alt-text suggestions, and the tone check — run on your device using Apple's on-device models. We don't receive your questions or Apple Intelligence's answers.

On your device and in iCloud

Your feed settings (dials, hidden topics, muted words, timed feeds) are stored on your device and synced between your own devices with iCloud. We can't read them. Your sign-in is stored in the device's Keychain.

Videos

Videos you post are processed by Bluesky's video service so every app on the network can play them. Bluesky's privacy policy applies to that processing.

Who we share with

We don't sell or rent your information. Besides the public network described above, we use these providers to run the service: Railway (hosting for Asteria Post and this website) and DeepSeek (moderation checks on post text). We may disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect people from serious harm.

Deleting your account

You can delete your Asteria Post account in the app: Settings › Account › Delete Account. We'll email a confirmation code. Deleting your account removes your account, posts, and media from Asteria Post and tells the network to remove them.

Children

Post isn't for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). Adult content is hidden in the app.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the date at the top. If a change is significant, we'll tell you in the app.
